A free, online resource for scientists and the public to get the latest information on projects sequencing various animal, plant and other eukaryotic genomes has been founded by the International Sequencing Consortium.

The comparison of these to the already mapped human genome will continue to provide useful scientific insights. The database includes information about each sequencing project such as a timetable for completion, descriptions of sequencing strategies used, and links to the projects Web sites.
