Judge Vaughn Walker of U.S. District Court in San Francisco has been chosen to preside over the federal governments antitrust case against Oracles hostile bid for PeopleSoft. Walker is a former antitrust attorney at Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro, in San Francisco. In his most recent antitrust case regarding the sale of the San Francisco Examiner, Walker declined to block the sale and accused the Justice Department of practicing “cronyism” in the case.
