Kevin Kline, president of the Professional Association of SQL Server users (PASS) user group, was once a dyed-in-the-wool Oracle aficionado. Prior to getting his hands on Microsoft Corp.s SQL Server during a 1995 contract, he was active in the International Oracle Users Group and wrote a book on Oracle tools. After that 1995 gig, though, he was intrigued by SQL Server and promptly switched teams—although he does admit that both databases have their own, particular capabilities.
