Oracle has yet to make up its mind on the possibility of per-employee pricing models. Server Technologies Senior Vice President Thomas Kurian said the company is still exploring the idea and that plans are still in a “consultation phase.” The difficulties of such a scheme—such as figuring out how to track servers or CPUs or audit what software runs on which CPUs—might be worth overcoming for the simplified payment structure it would entail for customers.
