Database tool vendor LeccoTech Inc. on Friday introduced the latest version of its Lecco DB Expert for Oracle Corp. databases with new features to improve performance.
Version 3.2 of Lecco DB Expert for Oracle includes part of LeccoTechs proprietary Feedback Searching Engine technology, which the company says lets users ensure reliable performance and prevent uncertainty in indexing by managing index changes.
The San Francisco-based vendor is incorporating a series of new features in Version 3.2, including ones that it calls Plan Version Tracker, Virtual Index Simulator, Index Impact Analyzer and Index Expert. Plan Version Tracker allows users to track changes to execution plans and SQL cost so they can predict the impact to performance from such activities as database migrations, upgrades, configuration changes and data growth.
Virtual Index Simulator and Index Expert work together, with the simulator displaying the execution plans that an Oracle database would create if it used the index set alternatives created by Index Expert. The simulator also can predict the effect on performance of an index set on a SQL statement. Index Impact Analyzer can evaluate the creation of indexes in other SQL statements without affecting database performance.
Lecco DB Expert for Oracle 3.2 will be available June 14 with pricing starting at $8,495, officials said.
