Manufacturing and supply chain software maker Aspen Technology Inc. announced Monday an OEM partnership with Informatica Corp., maker of business analytics software.
Under the terms of the agreement, AspenTech, of Cambridge, Mass., will embed Informaticas PowerCenter and PowerConnect software into its Performance Management solution for manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Companies use AspenTech applications to collaborate with suppliers and distributors, manage inventories, and plan production.
The combined software is geared toward helping chemical and petroleum industry users standardize data in AspenTechs Performance Management software, and at reducing the amount of customization needed to transform large amounts of information across the supply chain as it moves from demand to fulfillment, officials said.
The partnership will also bring analytic capabilities to users. Informaticas business analytics software spans what company officials deem the “build to buy” spectrum.
The Redwood City, Calif., companys software is used to manage and integrate large data warehouses and data marts along with analytic software for monitoring the performance of supply chain and customer relationship systems.
The combined products will be available in the spring of 2003, officials said.
