Compuware Corp. Tuesday announced enhancements to its application quality solutions—The Compuware Application Reliability Solution and Compuware QACenter Enterprise Edition.

The new releases, version 5.1 of both products, provide centralized test asset repositories, decentralized test management, requirements analysis and optimized testing, Compuware officials said.

Moreover, Compuware has integrated CARS (Compuware Application Reliability Solution) with Changepoint, the companys IT governance and management solution. This integrated solution gives senior IT management an integrated view of project status and quality, the company said.

Meanwhile, both CARS 5.1 and QACenter Enterprise Edition 5.1 support an enterprisewide quality management environment with Web-enabled test management to support geographically dispersed quality assurance teams. This enables users to create test plans, create and manage manual test scripts, schedule and manage test execution of manual and automated assets, and review test results, all from a Web browser. And the Web functionality is exposed through the CARS workbench and the QACenter portal, the company said.

In addition, both CARS 5.1 and QACenter 5.1 now support requirements management tools, including Compuware Reconcile as well as Borland CaliberRM, IBM Rational RequisitePro, SteelTraces SteelTrace requirements management solution and Telelogic DOORS, Compuware officials said.

“IT is now an integral part of the business, and most businesses cannot run successfully without reliable IT systems, so quality is a must,” said Elizabeth Maly, director of Compuware Quality Solutions, in a statement. “A collaborative approach to managing application quality provides efficient and comprehensive testing. Through Compuwares comprehensive quality solutions portfolio, Compuware customers can achieve unparalleled application quality.”

The new releases also feature improved collaboration capabilities and enhanced test planning and test management, the company said.
