Embarcadero Technologies is providing a preview of its upcoming RAD Studio XE, its new application development suite.
Embarcadero is previewing the technology at the Delphi Live Developer Conference in San Jose, Calif., which opens Aug. 23. Available in early September, RAD Studio XE will include Delphi XE, C++Builder XE, Delphi Prism XE and RadPHP XE, Embarcadero said in a press release regarding the conference and the RAD Studio XDE preview.
In addition to previewing RAD Studio XE, Embarcadero executives will lead several sessions at Delphi Live spanning topics including: REST and thin client development; programming; performance profiling; static analysis and more, Embarcadero said. Michael Swindell, Embarcadero’s senior vice president of marketing and product management, will serve as the keynote speaker. In addition, industry veteran and Embarcadero’s chief evangelist, David Intersimone, will present “Finding and Fixing Performance Problems in Database-Driven Applications.” To access the full list of speakers and sessions, visit http://delphilive.com/2010/speaker/.
The Delphi Live event also will host the celebration of 15 years of Delphi development. The Delphi tool is now 15 years old. Indeed, “Since its inception 15 years ago, Delphi has become a powerful tool that is used by some 1.5 million developers all over the world. It has weathered the ups and the downs, and is now at the center of one of the most enthusiastic and vibrant communities in the software development world,” Embarcadero said in a blurb describing the technology on the Delphi Live Website.
Moreover, Delphi Live kicks off Embarcadero’s RAD Studio XE World Tour that will include more than 75 live events in more than 15 countries throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia. For its part, RAD Studio XE will offer new capabilities to improve application performance, streamline the development process and accelerate the time it takes to build native Windows, .NET and Web applications. Embarcadero inherited the Delphi technology through its acquisition of CodeGear. CodeGear was the tools-focused spinoff of Borland Software. With the acquisition of CodeGear from Borland in 2008, Embarcadero grew to serve more than three million software development professionals worldwide with IDEs (integrated development environments) and database tools that help simplify and accelerate development.
