eWEEK Labs Walk-through: CodeWeavers’ CrossOver 6.0

The most interesting new element of CrossOver 6.0 is its support for OS X, which was made possible by Apples move to the x86 processor platform.

While we found the interface for the Linux version of CrossOver a bit rough around the edges, the products new OS X version fits in very well with the look of OS X.

CrossOver does a good job integrating installed applications with OS X and Linux desktops.

CodeWeavers maintains a good database of application compatibility, and the attached forums often offer good advice for getting unsupported applications working.

While we had trouble getting several unsupported applications to work, this Windows text editor, TextPad, worked just fine.

CrossOver attempts to prevent conflict between applications by offering the option to install them in separate bottles.
