FineGround Networks Inc. on Tuesday announced that its patent-pending application acceleration software platform, the Condenser, will support the IBM WebSphere Application Server.

FineGround made its announcement at the IBM developerWorks Live conference in San Francisco. The Campbell, Calif., company focuses on enterprise Web application acceleration.

“Our approach is a bit different from other companies in that its not a static edge cache, but rather a new layer of software in the enterprise that improves performance up to 10 times by reducing how much data is transmitted,” said Zack Urlocker vice president of marketing, at FineGround. “This is the key to solving the last mile problem for Web-based applications.”

As IBM customers implement e-business initiatives using IBMs WebSphere, FineGround will enable them to deliver faster performance for high-transaction, high-volume applications, Urlocker said.
