MRO Software Inc. has tailored its Maximo software suite to help companies in the utility and transportation industries better manage maintenance, repair and operations. The Bedford, Mass., company last week at its MRO World user conference in Washington announced the availability of Maximo Transmission and Distribution for utilities and Maximo 5 Transportation. Both suites are based on Maximo 5, MROs asset management platform.

MTD tracks utility market requirements such as compatible units estimating, provides enhanced planning and scheduling capabilities, and integrates with multiple GISes (geographic information systems). For instance, MTD interfaces with ActiveG LLCs software to access geographic information and provides a GIS spatial data warehouse for integrated mappings to GIS applications. The MRO software also integrates with performance management and mobile work force management systems, officials said.

Maximo 5 Transportation can help companies manage assets critical to transportation, including vehicles, rolling stock, infrastructure and facilities. The software tracks transportation and fleet management requirements such as industry-standard codes (including the Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standard); addresses line code reporting needs; offers improved tracking of original, extended and aftermarket equipment and parts warranties; and has fuel management interfaces.

MRO said it will expand its partnership with Optram Inc. by integrating Optrams linear asset management system, Optram Right-of-Way Infrastructure Management, with Maximo to provide maintenance planning based on actual asset condition, work history and performance.
