TogetherSoft Corp. on Monday announced that J.D. Edwards & Co. has agreed to standardize on TogetherSofts application development environment.

Officials with Raleigh, N.C.-based TogetherSoft said J.D. Edwards has agreed to use the Together ControlCenter for strategic application development efforts.

Together ControlCenter is an integrated software development platform that enables developers to more easily design and code applications, the company said.

According to Michael Madden, chief technology officer at Denver-based J.D. Edwards, the company already has about 200 developers that currently use Together ControlCenter, with about 300 additional developers in line to use it.

Madden said J.D. Edwards was looking to “standardize on a design format that everyone can share across multiple teams in multiple sites.” He said the company also was looking for a development environment to empower individual developers. The TogetherSoft offering met both requirements, he said.

J.D Edwards will use the development platform to create applications in its primary lines of business, which include supply chain management systems, enterprise and customer relationship management systems, and consulting services.

Stephan Carter, J.D. Edwards senior manager for quality services, said TogetherSofts offering will help ensure the quality of his companys applications.

The current version of ControlCenter is ControlCenter 6.0, which the company released in March with IDE enhancements and modeling upgrades. The product also features refactorings, pattern support, integrated quality assurance support, migration between applications and documentation generation.
