Adobe Systems Inc. announced it will ship in April two editions of its Photoshop family of products, Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite 3 and Adobe Photoshop Extended.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 provides creative professionals with features such as automatic layer alignment and blending tools that enable users to combine their images while also featuring tools for compositing photos, which allow users to align several Photoshop layers or images based on similar content.

Photoshop CS3 includes Camera Raw, which lets photographers process raw images and supports formats such as JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) and TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) while also including new image-editing tools such as Fill Light and Dust Busting.

“Were delivering Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended to a new breed of cross-media creative professionals and stretching the limits of what can be done by architects, scientists and doctors,” Deborah Whitman, vice president of Adobes product management for Digital Imaging, said in a statement.

Adobes Photoshop CS3 also features Adobe Bridge, a file browser that enables users to process and review numerous camera images at once and also allows users to utilize Adobe Device Central, which lets users design, preview and test content that is created for smaller screens.

Photoshop CS3 allows users to polish digital photos and wrap an image around any shape using Image Warp and retouch photos using the Spot Healing Brush options.

Adobes Photoshop CS3 Extended features everything that is included in Photoshop CS3 but adds capabilities for 3-D, motion graphics and analysis tools.

Photoshop CS3 Extended includes Enhanced Vanishing Point, which enables creative professionals to measure in perspective and export from Enhanced Vanishing point to a 3-D model.

The Extended CS3 version of Photoshop also gives users an image-editing toolset that allows users to edit, paint and clone over several video frames and then export the resulting video to a variety of formats such as Flash.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended also includes the Measurement Log palette, which helps calculate a range of values within an image as well as Scale Maker, a tool that is able to add a scale graphic to an image.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Photoshop CS3 Extended will begin shipping in April and will be priced at $649 and $999, respectively.
