Waiting for takeoff Bluetooth technology may not be taking off in the United States yet, but products supporting the wireless specification are appearing. Last month, Samsonite Corp.s European division, based in Oudenaarde, Belgium, unveiled the first in a series of business cases that will be Bluetooth-enabled.

Important data The Bluetooth chip in the Hardlite ICT case will carry vital information, such as flight information and connections, and personal data that will identify the cases owner. It also will notify the owner if the case is being removed, company officials said.

Availability Hardlite cases with Bluetooth technology will be rolled out throughout the year, Samsonite officials said. Pricing information was not available.
