LAS VEGAS—Compuware demonstrated its newest application performance management (APM) solution resulting from its alliance with Splunk at the fourth annual Splunk Worldwide Users’ Conference, .conf2013, here.
Compuware showed off Compuware APM for Splunk Enterprise. Compuware’s integration with Splunk gives users deep visibility into machine data from all technology tiers within Splunk. The application delivers end-to-end details from the browser—including every visitor, request, click-path, third-party service and CDN—all the way through to every single business transaction on the server side across all tiers.
With Compuware APM for Splunk Enterprise, data collection is both dynamic and automatic, enabling immediate publishing to Splunk for analysis and enrichment alongside other sources. Long-term user or usage trends, application activity patterns, forensics and other insights can be quickly tailored for line-of-business owners.
Compuware APM for Splunk Enterprise addresses user experience analytics by leveraging insight from a user’s experience within an application alongside external data like social media and CRM profiles to deliver proactive customer support. It addresses predictive fraud analytics by identifying specific patterns of user behavior and predicting when an authorized account may have been compromised or accessing data in a suspicious manner. It also addresses application performance triage. Compuware APM’s smart baselines, which auto-detect issues and root cause within an application, can be analyzed by Splunk to unlock broader visibility into other IT assets like routers or firewalls.
“This year’s Splunk User Conference represents a great opportunity for those interested in taming the complexities of modern applications and making sense of big data,” said Todd Kaloudis, vice president of Worldwide Partner Sales for Compuware’s APM business unit, in a statement. “With our new Splunk app, businesses benefit from a new level of operational intelligence that is easy to implement in production and does not require any changes to code or log files.”
