Alcatel is offering a starter kit of new voice and data convergence services for medium-to-large businesses interested in testing IP telephony without spending a fortune or eliminating legacy systems.

The kit gives resellers a low-risk convergence option to offer enterprises considering IP telephony for branch offices or a network environment. It contains Alcatels IP-based voice communication system, Stackable Workgroup Data Switch and desktop telephones. Businesses will have the chance to evaluate IP telephony and maintain an existing PBX system at the same time.

The Alcatel IP Telephony Starter Kit is available via the Velizy, France, companys North American channel partners now until March 31. The recommended price is $19,995, including hardware, one day of installation and one year of maintenance.
