Dialogic announced Nov. 30 that its IP Media Gateway products have been certified by Microsoft to run with the newly launched Exchange Server 2007.

Dialogics IP Media Gateway products will provide Exchange Server 2007 with a unified messaging system, giving enterprises a common inbox for e-mail, voicemail and fax messages, as well as calendars and contacts from a variety of clients.

The gateways also feature an audio and signal link between legacy PBX (private branch exchange) voice systems and the VOIP (voice over IP) based Exchange server, allowing businesses ranging from small and midsize businesses to enterprises to set up the unified messaging features without having to switch their entire voice infrastructure to an IP based system.

“IP media gateways are a key ingredient needed to link the enormous installed base of legacy PBX voice infrastructure to the converged voice and data infrastructure where Microsoft Exchange 2007 lives,” Jim Machi, vice president of marketing for Dialogic, said in a company release.

The gateway portfolio features the T1/E1-IP Media Gateway and the PBX-IP Media Gateway, which will give businesses a variety of standard PBX interfaces and port densities that will allow companies to use Exchange Servers unified messaging capabilities to improve work productivity.

“Our strategic relationship with Microsoft is a natural fit as they expand Exchange Server to a multimedia messaging platform,” Nick Jensen, CEO of Dialogic, said in the same release.

Dialogic gateways will also be able to work with a number of PBXs that are used in organizations from manufacturers such as Avaya, Nortel, NEC, Siemens, Alcatel and Mitel.

Dialogic gateways for use with Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 are available immediately and pricing depends on which gateway the user wants.
