Hewlett Packard Enterprise is adding a new data analytics function to its service cloud lineup.

The company’s Investigative Analytics software-as-a-service offering was released Feb. 3 at the LegalTech conference in New York to enable financial institutions and other highly regulated organizations to identify and analyze risk events and to take action to prevent them.

HPE Investigative Analytics adds depth and functionality to the company’s information governance software, which includes HPE Digital Safe and HPE Supervisor, with its big data analytics engine, HPE IDOL, and HPE’s data miner, Vertica.

The new analytics package is all about automation; once policies are in place, it automatically detects patterns and anomalies by analyzing both structured (such as trading systems, risk systems, pricing systems, directories and HR systems) and unstructured data (from voice, chat, email and social networks, example).

The key capabilities of Investigative Analytics, according to HPE, are:

–Stores data as a curated data lake: Arranges information from disparate data sources (such as email, Instant Messaging and voice archives) as well as structured data from trading, risk, market and surveillance systems to provide a single view across both structured and unstructured information, regardless of source.

–Uses machine learning-based analytics: Uses investigative analytic human behavior models to measure risks and flag potential problems identified by connecting to business and market activity feeds; scores information against these events using a series of key risk indicators (KRIs).

–Secures access with rationalized results: Secures, audits and streamlines access to every bit in the data lake while using the capabilities of HPE IDOL and HPE Vertica to synthesize, analyze and produce actionable insights.

–Models human behavior to measure risk and raise alerts: Connects to business and market activity feeds, such as trade alerts, market events or research publications, and retroactively scores content against these events using a series of key risk indicators.

HPE Investigative Analytics is available directly from Hewlett Packard Enterprise and from select partners, which will resell the software and provide added value. Go here for more information.
