J.D. Edwards & Co. released Tuesday the first version of its customer relationship management software since completing the acquisition of CRM vendor YouCentric Inc. last month.
This release, known as CRM Version 1.1, includes tighter integration with the J.D. Edwards OneWorld enterprise resource planning applications through the companys Extended Process Integration technology. The front- and back-office applications share the same data model, what the company calls Data Model Inheritance.
This integration allows the J.D. Edwards software to support a unified “lead to cash” business process that encompasses sales leads, price quotes, order entry, delivery and billing.
But the integration has not yet been extended to all of J.D. Edwards back-office applications. The company also announced Tuesday plans to integrate CRM with its Advanced Order Configurator and Advanced Planning applications sometime next year.
