If there was any doubt about the power of blogs, consider the case of Michael Gee. A part-time journalism professor at Boston University, Gee was fired recently after he posted comments in a blog about the looks of a female student in his course.

Writing on the Web site SportsJournalists.com July 5, Gee, a well-known sports journalist who recently left the Boston Herald, described his first day of class at BU and gushed about one female student, who he said was so “incredibly hot” that he worried he wouldnt “be able to remember the other five students” in his class, The Associated Press reported.

That was enough for BU, which fired Gee July 13, saying that Gee had “violated the trust essential to the student-teacher relationship.”
