Novell is directing a new Linux-based point of sale/service package at retailers.

Novell Linux Point of Service 9 gives retailers a choice between five different customizable images. Choices include a stripped down image that requires 64MB of RAM and an advanced version with open source office applications and a web browser.

The package will be offered during the second quarter.
