Two Microsoft Exchange partners joined forces Monday when IntelliReach Corp. acquired the assets and technology of MicroData Software Inc.

IntelliReach, developer of ExRay for Exchange, a system monitoring application for Exchange Server, will add MicroDatas software for e-mail security, policy management and reporting, including Cameo 2.0 for real-time e-mail monitoring; Cameo Recon for controlling stored e-mail messages; and MELIA 2.0, an e-mail usage reporting tool.

With the acquisition, IntelliReach, of Dedham, Mass., which also develops e-mail management software for Novell Inc.s Groupwise server, will have more than 1,500 customers in 37 countries, with nearly 2 million mailboxes.

Paul Parisi, founder and president of Topsfield, Mass.-based MicroData, will join IntelliReach as chief architect of Microsoft products.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
