You know this had to happen sooner or later: You can now share a truck, similar to ZipCar and other vehicle-sharing services.

This is particularly timely this week. Truxx, the truck-sharing app that connects people who drive a truck with those who need one, is one of 130 companies to be inducted by StartupGrind to its 2018 Class of Exhibiting Startups. The Startup Exhibition has selected 130 companies from 115 countries around the world for the exhibit.

Startup Exhibition companies are given access to global audiences through media and onsite at the annual StartupGrind conference, held Feb. 12 through Feb. 14 at the Fox Theatre in historic downtown Redwood City, Calif. The exhibition helps companies to gain visibility of mentors and investors in the Startup Grind network.

Schedule Use of a Truck Through Free App

Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn and Cal Henderson of Slack are two of the speakers at StartupGrind.

Truxx allows people to move large items that don’t fit in a car by scheduling a truck through the free app and is available anywhere drivers have signed up. Since its launch, people have used Truxx for everything from moves across town to large purchases at retail stores or online community sites, such as Craigslist.

Truxx is available for free download from the AppStore and Google Play. For more information on the company, go here.

StartupGrind Seeks to Do More for Startups Than Incubators

“We started this (StartupGrind) program after seeing many of the accelerators and Incubators not doing much to really help companies,” Derek Andersen, founder and CEO of Startup Grind, said in a media advisory. “We really wanted to make an actual difference in the startups’ trajectories and use all of our resources and network to their advantage.

“Of the 7,000 plus startups that were considered, 130 were selected representing the Startup Grind community across 115 countries. These startups have great teams, traction, technology and massive markets,” Andersen said.

“Our biggest goal is for each startup to go back home with a new and improved game plan that would not have happened without the exposure of the exhibition and the mentors/resources that were gained through our network.”

Startup Grind Startup Exhibition companies are an elite group of companies that come from countries as far away as Mauritius, Japan, Bangladesh, Australia, in addition to Guatemala, Canada, New York, Virginia, Georgia, Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, Nevada, Washington, California.
