System management ARTS Inc.—or Smarts—this month will release a new version of its Service Assurance Manager 2002 that can import management and operational data from a variety of management tools and devices. The latest version of SAM 2002 adds a broad range of adapters that integrate and correlate network topology, events and analysis results from a list of sources using a variety of protocols.

The adapters perform de-duplication of events and alarms at the source generating the event or alarm, thereby reducing the amount of network bandwidth taken up by management data. Other event managers collect all events and alarms at a central management console before performing de-duplication.

Pricing starts at $45,000.
