The U.S. Department of Justice has made a second request to Adobe Systems Inc. and Macromedia Inc. for information and documentation regarding Adobes pending acquisition of Macromedia.
According to the companies, the request is limited to information and documentation pertaining to the companies products in the area of Web authoring and design and vector graphics illustration. Those categories include Adobes Illustrator and GoLive and Macromedias Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver.
The companies said that the request extends the DOJs timeframe for reviewing the merger, which was announced April 18. The DOJ has 30 days to rule on the merger from the time that Adobe and Macromedia have “substantially complied” with the DOJs request, according to the companies.
Even with the DOJs new request, the companies said they hope to complete the merger this fall.
