JetBlue Airways reported a $42.4 million fourth-quarter loss, and $6.1 million of that sum was due to “development costs related to a maintenance and inventory tracking system that will not be implemented.”
The system in question was provided by aviation software company Visaer, according to Todd Thompson, CIO of JetBlue. The company in a statement said the system was shelved due to “implementation challenges.”
The airline plans to use its current maintenance and engineering system in the meantime.
