There are more Windows Live services than meet the eye.

In fact, based on a listing on a Microsoft Feedback Web site, there are more than 40 Windows Live services in the hopper—not the 20 that Microsoft officials commonly tout.

Windows Live is a growing collection of service add-ons that extend Windows, primarily in the consumer arena.

Among the currently shipping Live services are Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Expo online classifieds; Windows Live Custom Domains, Windows Live Favorites and Windows Live OneCare.

The Windows Live Ideas Web site is Microsofts primary showcase for its Windows Live properties.

There are currently 20 services and related Web sites—some in beta, some already released—listed there.

(The most recently announced Live blog-authoring service, Windows Live Writer, is expected to make it onto the Live Ideas site by August 15.)

But the Feedback.Live.Com site lists more than 40 Windows Live services and sites, as Windows Live Platform Product Planner Ken Levy blogged recently.

The existence of these services on such a site indicates that Microsoft is currently testing them, internally, externally or both, and is seeking tester feedback on these services and sites.
