Manugistics, Avolent to Announce Alliance

Manugistics Inc., a supply chain management software provider, is honing a new message of Enterprise Profit Optimization that combines SCM and supplier relationship management with pricing and revenue optimization.

At its Envision 2002 user conference in San Diego next week, Manugistics will announce a strategic alliance with Avolent Inc., of San Francisco. Avolent offers electronic bill and invoice presentment and payment software.

Manugistics, of Rockville, Md., will combine the latest version of Avolents BizCast software for electronic invoicing and settlement with its Order Management solution.

Part of its SCM suite, Manugistics Order Management module offers consolidated order management, advanced order commitment and tracking, workflow across the order management process, order visibility as well as event management, monitoring and analysis tools.

The combined software will provide the ability for suppliers to automate order-to-cash processes—from order through invoicing and payment, Manugisitics officials said.

The combination of BizCast and Order Management will also help suppliers to improve timing of cash and cash flow visibility, officials said.

Also Monday at Manugistics conference, Avolent will launch BizCast 5, the latest iteration of its electronic invoicing platform. BizCast 5 enables companies to shorten days sales outstanding [DSO] and increase levels of sales to business customers.

The latest version of BizCast provides tools and workbenches to streamline development and deployment of electronic invoicing applications. BizCast currently provides invoice delivery, reconciliation, payer-defined approval workflow, collaborative dispute resolution, expense analysis, electronic settlement and online account management.
