Primary care network One Medical Group announced the expansion of its enterprise program that will allow companies nationwide to offer the One Medical service as an employee health benefit.
Employees of participating companies have access to primary care physicians, as well as same-day appointments, online and mobile scheduling, 24/7 telehealth services, integrative health and wellness solutions and more.
More than 40 companies have already enrolled in One Medical’s enterprise program, including Adobe, Doximity, Fitbit, NBCUniversal, On Deck Capital, Percolate, Quantcast, Sequoia Benefits, Uber and Wanelo.
The company’s My One online patient portal offers services like a medical records release form, prescription renewals and specialist referrals, and the ability to email doctors and care givers after appointments.
The company also offers a free mobile application, One Medical Mobile. The app allows users to book appointments, renew prescriptions and locate nearby offices when on the go.
Users can also avoid the office visit entirely and request treatment for common issues with the Treat Me Now feature. The app is available on both iPhone and Android.
A blog features health tips, medical news and recipes from One Medical doctors, and the company also has a social media presence on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest with regular updates.
“Companies are frustrated by the cost and accessibility of quality health care, and they’re concerned about the impact this has on employee well-being, productivity and morale,” Tom Lee, founder and CEO of One Medical, said in a statement. “By offering an affordable solution that gives employees 24/7 access to quality primary care, our enterprise clients have found that they can improve their teams’ health and wellness while better managing their total health care spend.”
One Medical currently operates in multiple markets, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., with plans to expand to other markets nationally, according to a company release.
An independent analysis conducted by Milliman found that One Medical’s approach lowered employers’ health care costs by 8 percent, with members requiring 25 percent fewer ER visits, 31 percent fewer specialty care visits, and 39 percent fewer hospital visits.
“Keeping our team healthy and productive is a top priority for us,” Jeff Tangney, founder and CEO of Doximity, said in a statement. “Providing convenient access to high-quality primary care through One Medical Group is the latest way that Doximity contributes to our employees’ overall health and wellness.”
