Reflex Systems, a provider of virtualization systems management solutions, announced it is expanding its federal government initiative to meet growing demand for Reflex Virtualization Management Center (VMC). Reflex-whose offerings include VMC, vTrust Security, vWatch Monitoring and vProfile Configuration products-works with federal market vendors, including MicroTech, Premier Systems, Convergence Technologies and CSC.
“As government organizations move more applications and data to virtual and cloud environments, the need for an all-compassing, agile and secure way to manage their infrastructure has become critical,” said Preston Futrell, president and CEO of Reflex Systems. “This is driving more federal customers, including civilian and DOD [Department of Defense] agencies, to Reflex solutions; in fact, federal agencies accounted for 32 percent of our 2010 sales revenue.”
Reflex partnered with CSC to secure a federal government agency contract in 2010, and CSC incorporated Reflex VMC and the Reflex VMC vTrust module into the CSC Trusted Cloud solution. vTrust security technology provides policy management and enforcement across virtual environments hosted locally and in private or public clouds.
“To help us capitalize on this growing interest from the federal government, we recently recruited John Sutton to run our federal government business,” said Futrell. “John’s deep understanding of the federal market, coupled with expertise in virtualization and security solutions, and strong industry relationships will be invaluable to both Reflex and our customers.”
Sutton brings more than 15 years of federal government sales experience to Reflex, Futrell said. He has sold millions of dollars of virtualization security solutions and IT services to myriad federal military and civilian agencies and has been responsible for securing and managing relationships with strategic partners to drive higher levels of business, supporting key customer engagements and directing GSA schedule initiatives.
“Government IT departments are turning to virtualization and cloud computing for flexibility and cost savings. But without a strong management solution, they’re likely to squander these benefits,” said Sutton, account manager for the federal government for Reflex. “I joined Reflex because no other solution enables such granular levels of visibility into, and holistic control over, complex virtual- and cloud-based infrastructures. I’m excited to help federal customers take advantage of Reflex VMC and realize the benefits of these promising technologies.”
