Both Switch machines, which feature 10.1-inch multitouch In-Plane Switching (IPS) displays, Intel Atom quad-core processors and precision touchpads and run on the Microsoft Windows 10 operating system, were unveiled by Acer on May 27. Both are full-featured notebook machines that can be disconnected from their keyboards and used as tablets.

In addition, the touch screen of the Switch V 10 can be used by owners to take notes, write, draw and highlight on Web pages using Microsoft Edge.

The machine also includes Acer's Snap Hinge latchless magnetic mechanism that lets users position the device into four different modes—notebook, pad, tent and display— by opening, folding and repositioning it. The Switch V 10 is aimed at students, families and young professionals and is available in five colors: Pearl White, Shale Black, Coral Red, Peacock Blue or Navy Blue.

Also included in the Switch V 10 are dual cameras and battery life of up to about 9 hours per charge, according to Acer.
