      The updated Acer TravelMate P645-S machines are available with fifth-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. They also come with a 14-inch Full HD display and Nvidia GeForce 840M graphics with 2GB DDR3 VRAM or a more basic version with a 1,366-by-768-resolution HD display and integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500.

      The new TravelMates come with 8GB of DDR3 memory, which is upgradable up to 12GB. Solid-state drives (SSDs) offering up to 256GB of data storage are available, and the machines are available with Windows 8.1, Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit or Windows 7.

      For enterprise security, the TravelMates include a biometric fingerprint reader for positive user identification, as well as deep and effective software and hardware tools to protect company data and assets through security policies and monitoring of IT assets.

      With the new Broadwell chipset-equipped Intel processors, the latest TravelMate ultrabooks now can provide up to 8 hours of battery life so that users can get their work done even when they are literally off the grid. The faster CPUs also provide up to 24 percent better graphics performance.

      The Acer TravelMate P645-S machines include a high-strength carbon fiber lid and a magnesium-aluminum palm rest and bottom cover for increased strength. The machines weigh 3.31 pounds, are 0.82 inches thick, and include WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities as well.

      The Acer ProDock can be easily added to the TravelMate to enable users to quickly reconnect their machines in their home or business offices so they can get back to work. Here a TravelMate sits in a ProDock, ready for use.

      The ProDock also expands the available ports for users by adding additional USB 3.0, DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, VGA and Ethernet ports, while offering cable management. Up to two additional displays can be connected to a TravelMate P645-S machine when needed.
