      In addition to the Windows 10 Mobile OS, Alcatel’s Idol 4G features a 5.5-inch touch-screen display a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of memory and 64GB of on-board storage.

      Alcatel’s latest flagship handset features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1,920-by-1,080) AMOLED display that can be viewed in direct sunlight, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with a Qualcomm Adreno 530 graphics processor, 4GB of memory, 64GB of on-board storage and a microSD slot for expandable storage cards up to 128GB.

      The Idol 4S includes a 21MP main rear-facing camera that’s equipped with a Sony IMX230 image sensor, as well as an 8MP front-facing selfie camera that uses an 84-degree wide-angle lens. The rear main camera also includes fast-focus and a dedicated camera button to capture images better. The smartphone is capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps.

      The 4G LTE handset is a GSM phone that also includes WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity options. The handset has a USB Type-C port; is 6.05 inches long, 2.97 inches wide and 0.27 inches thick; and weighs 5.36 ounces.

      The Idol 4S uses a rear-mounted fingerprint reader and Windows Hello authentication tools to provide enterprise-grade security for users without the need to enter a typed-in password.

      Dual 3.6-watt JBL-certified speakers featuring Waves Audio technology are included in the Idol 4S to provide great sound for listening to music or watching movies. Users can also enhance the audio experience on the handset by activating its Boom Key, which boosts the sound volume and bass while listening to your favorite music and adds enhanced voice clarity and loudness while making a phone call in a noisy environment.

      The Idol 4S runs on the Microsoft Windows 10 Mobile operating system, which lets users do work on their handsets while on the go and then easily move that work at their destination to a compatible computer using the Microsoft Continuum feature. Using Windows 10 Mobile, users also have access to Microsoft Office apps and regular software updates directly from Microsoft.

      Alcatel provides an accompanying virtual reality headset in a bundle with the Idol 4S smartphone, all packed together in the same display box. The phone can be placed in the VR headset so users can experience 2D and 3D content with their devices, including games, videos and other VR applications. Alcatel’s own VR Store comes preloaded on the Idol 4S as well, so users can find additional content.

      The Idol 4S includes a 3,000mAh battery for all-day power, as well as Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 capabilities, which provide a full charge in about 90 minutes using a USB-C connection. The handset comes in rose gold (pictured), black and pink.
