AT&T will launch Primetime, a customized, entertainment-focused tablet, on Aug. 25, featuring HD-quality video and a myriad of entertainment apps including AT&T’s DirecTV services.

The AT&T Primetime, which also includes enterprise-ready productivity features including Android for Work and Enterprise Mobility Management capabilities, was announced by the company on Aug. 21. The tablet features a 10-inch full HD display, a 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor and a 9,070mAh battery for up to 11 hours of use on a charge.

Also included in the tablet is 2GB of memory, 32GB of onboard storage, a microSD slot for memory cards up to 128GB, as well as separate 5-megapixel rear-facing and front-facing cameras, each with 4x zoom.

Primetime will be available in AT&T stores or through the company’s website. The device is priced at $30 with a two-year cellular contract or for $10 a month on a 20-month installment plan with an AT&T Unlimited Plus or AT&T Unlimited Choice mobile plan. AT&T mobile plan customers can add a Primetime tablet to their unlimited accounts for $20 per month.

The tablet includes dual front-facing speakers and Dolby Audio capabilities, with four audio presets or can be set up with custom sound profiles. The device also can be used with two Bluetooth headsets or speakers at one time, giving users multiple listening options.

The tablet, which is manufactured by ZTE for AT&T, allows AT&T customers who also subscribe to AT&T’s DirecTV services to watch live TV or videos from almost anywhere using the device’s TV Mode and video apps such as DirecTV using one touch or swipe on the display.

Primetime users can use the device for productivity tasks as well, with the ability to read, create and edit documents using Google Docs and split-screen display capabilities. The device also includes security features for internet connections as well as encryption capabilities.

Users of Primetime can make and receive calls using their smartphone numbers through AT&T’s NumberSync service and their AT&T smartphone account. Voice or video calls can be made using the service even without a phone being present, according to AT&T.

“Whether you’re at home or on-the-go, the AT&T Primetime tablet offers an entertainment-first experience at a very affordable price,” Kevin Petersen, senior vice president of device and network services marketing for AT&T, said in a statement. “Not only is this tablet priced competitively, but it is also packed with some of the latest and greatest audio and video features designed to deliver premium entertainment that is just one-touch away.”
