Atheros Communications Inc. announced Tuesday a deal with Microsoft Corp. to add wireless 802.11g networking to the Xbox game console. Microsoft’s Xbox Wireless Adapter will include Atheros’s 802.11g wireless-system-on-a-chip (WiSOC) chipset. The chipset includes draft 802.11e Quality of Service enhancements for multimedia applications.
