Atlanta City Hall unwires this month. Public areas of the citys Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will go wireless by March. Apartments, hotels, office buildings, and convention centers will also unplug.

The citys ambitious plan, known as FastPass, will operate as a public-private partnership that city officials hope will avoid the legal challenges that have plagues other municipalities, like Philadelphia, that have pursued similar plans.
