Bluetooth Shipments Hit Milestone

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) announced Tuesday that more than 1 million units were shipped per week worldwide during the third quarter. According to the SIG, Bluetooth is becoming increasingly popular in mobile phones, PDAs and other consumer electronics.

The organization expects the rate of adoption to increase, as auto makers get into the game–Toyota, Lexus, GM and others plan on releasing bluetooth enabled handsfree kits in the near future.
