A recent poll conducted by Unstrung.com shows that the hotspot market may have topped out and could be in serious trouble if efforts are not made to reduce tariffs and expand 802.11 coverage areas.

Twenty eight percent of respondents to the November poll, 802.11 Hotspots: A Burst Bubble?, said they believe hotspot services have limited appeal and will never make any money.

Another 47 percent say they have not seen “a foolproof business model”. Only 26 percent said they believed it was just a matter of time before hotspots developed mass appeal.
