LG Lancet Windows Smartphone Offers Advanced Calling Features

With its 4.5-inch LCD display and a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the Lancet delivers good performance at a bargain price. The handset includes 8GB of internal storage, though 4GB are already filled with applications. It is expandable to 128GB of storage through a microSDXC card.

The Lancet runs on the Microsoft Windows 8.1 Phone operating system, which gives users a familiar interface that allows them to personalize the device and blend its operations with their Windows 8.1 desktop or laptop computers.

The Lancet includes an 8MP rear-facing camera with a full-HD camcorder with LED flash, as well as a VGA front-facing camera and camcorder. The rear camera lets users take selfies with a hand gesture and will quickly take simultaneous shots when the shutter button is held down.

The Lancet includes special LG apps, such as KnockOn, which allows users to waken or cause the screen to sleep by tapping twice on the display. Users can also take a quick screen capture or jot down notes while on a phone call using the QuickMemo app.

The Lancet is a Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) phone built to operate on Verizon’s LTE network. It also includes WiFi and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity, as well as Bluetooth capabilities. The handset is 5.11 inches tall, 2.55 inches wide and 0.42 inches thick. The phone weighs 5.05 oz.

The Lancet’s 4.5-inch display is an 854 x 480 pixel thin-film-transistor (TFT) component that provides good performance for bargain-hunting users. The screen illuminates to provide a soft light when users take selfies. The Lancet also includes a 2,100mAh lithium-ion battery for power.

Users of the LG Lancet can also take advantage of the Cortana personal digital assistant that is built into Windows 8.1. Cortana can provide helpful advice, traffic alerts, as well as weather, shopping and other advice when needed.
