Everypath Inc. is introducing a new version of its mobile application gateway software focused on ease of deployment.

Everypath MTA (Mobile Task Automation) 5.0 comes with a set of prepackaged components designed to build mobile applications for key vertical markets, including sales force automation, service and supply chain management, said officials at the Santa Clara, Calif., company. These components include tools for activity management, detailing, order entry, inventory management and call reporting.

“Theyre in a repository where they can be assembled on a case-by-case and customer-by-customer basis,” said Matt DiMaria, vice president of business development at Everypath.

Everypath MTA 5.0 also features multimode connectivity, which lets users blend online and offline information in the same application. For example, a salesman can retrieve replicated contact information on his PDA at the same time he is looking up the status of an order on the corporate database, both via a wireless connection.

“Previously, you had to have two environments, one for real time and one for offline,” DiMaria said. “Now its in the same framework.”

MTA 5.0 also includes life-cycle management capabilities not found in previous versions of the software.

Users can take application components from the MTA repository and stick them into existing applications on MTA Server just by pointing and clicking, officials said. Applications are distributed centrally to any number of devices; the software is device agnostic, officials said.

A new browser-based management console also makes it easier to monitor the security and performance of devices in the field, officials said.

Everypath MTA 5.0 is available now. Pricing starts at $100,000 for a basic configuration, which includes the software and a limited number of users.
