Motorola last month appointed networking industry veteran Tom Mader as corporate vice president and general manager of the companys Wireline Networks division.

Mader will be responsible for FTTP (fiber to the premises) and FTTN (fiber to the node) technologies, including the deployment of next-generation entertainment services such as IPTV, video on demand and digital recording, Motorola officials said. He will report to Adrian Nemcek, executive vice president of Motorola and president of Motorola Networks.

Prior to joining Motorola, Mader founded Mader & Associates, a voice-over-IP equipment company. Before that, he served as CEO of Netrake.
