Nextel last week started soliciting customers for its wireless broadband service trial. The trial, which will happen in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C., area, will use Flarion Technologies FLASH-OFDM. The technology is based on IEEE 802.20 and it typically delivers downstream speeds at 1.5 Mbps.
