The next generation of cell phone networks could operate at 100Mbps. Mikko Uusitalo, chairman of the Wireless World Research Forum, is working to unite service providers, manufactures and governments behind fourth-generation or 4G wireless technology. Uusitalo wants to have basic 4G blueprints worked out by 2007, when his group is scheduled to present a plan to a United Nations agency that designates certain bands of frequencies for use in regions across the world.
