by Todd R. Weiss
2Innovative Galaxy Note Edge
The first thing you notice on the new Galaxy Note Edge is the wrap-around screen on the right side of the device. The next thing you notice is the bright, sharp 5.6-inch quad HD Super AMOLED screen, which provides a beautiful image display.
3More Information for Users
With the Edge display at their disposal, users can get news headlines, weather reports, sports scores and more, all on the edge of their screens.
4Customizable Edge Options
The scrollable Edge menu panel can also be customized to display apps, such as a stopwatch, a ruler, a flashlight, a digital recorder or more to give users easy access to many functions.
The new Note Edge smartphone also features a 2.7GHz quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable to 128GB via a micro SD slot. The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat.
6Crisp 16MP Rear Camera
The Galaxy Note Edge includes a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with 8x digital zoom and Optical Image Stabilization, as well as a 3.7MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens.
7Big Screen Web Browsing, E-Reader
The clear, large display gives users crisp images for Web browsing, ebook reading and more, especially compared with smaller smartphones.
8Useful Stylus S Pen for Writing on Screen
The included S Pen provides improved data input and handwriting recognition so that users can “write” on the screen of the Note Edge and have it transformed into text.
9Powerful Battery, Fast Charging
Powering the new Note Edge is a removable 3,000-mAh Li-on battery that can be charged to about 50 percent power in about 30 minutes using its Adaptive Fast Charging system. The smartphone will be available in Charcoal Black or Frost White.
10Available for Sale on Nov. 14
The new Galaxy Note Edge will go on sale Nov. 14 though wireless carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular. It will also be available at Samsung Experience Shops inside Best Buy stores.
11Shares Technology With the Galaxy Note 4
The new Galaxy Note Edge shares much of its technology with Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 phablet, which lacks the Edge display and went on sale in mid-October.
