Information workers: Sales, IT, managers and others use information applications to deliver real-time data as well as the plethora of e-mail, calendar and portal access applications.

Task workers: Supply chain personnel, medical personnel, manufacturers and others use line-of-business applications on a single device such as inventory scanners and data entry tablets.

Wannabes: The rest of us. We use multiple devices to access e-mail, calendar and PIM (product information management). Basic portal access both officially and unofficially for work and personal uses.
