Software specialist Symphony Teleca announced the release of m-Suite, which is designed to create, deploy and manage mobile enterprise applications. The platform offers an enterprise application store, mobile-device management, analytics and expense management, among other features.

As the first release following Symphony€™s merger with Teleca, m-Suite is designed to manage the spectrum of challenges business face in order to plan, store and manage mobile enterprise applications, devices and expenses.

The m-Suite platform provides end-to-end mobile security with data and device protection for a range of mobile platforms, offering policy creation and automated configuration for scalable execution of corporate security guidelines with reporting and compliance. From a single browser interface, m-Suite provides a 360-degree view and control of the mobile devices, along with access to application inventories, device profiles, usage statistics and security policies.

€œEnterprise mobility holds great promise for many organizations today, and is quickly becoming a competitive imperative,€ Torben Haase, general manager of Symphony Teleca€™s enterprise division, said in a company release. €œNot only does our solution help our clients tame the challenges of the bring-your-own-device phenomenon, it unlocks the tremendous value inherent in mobilizing critical enterprise applications.€

The company also worked to provide integration with back-office systems, cloud services, social networking, databases, and a range of enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. In addition, the cloud-based, open-architecture solution supports native, hybrid and Web development environments for cross-platform application creation. Symphony Teleca collaborated with a number of enterprise mobility specialists, including Sybase, an SAP company, for mobile-device management (MDM).

“We see enterprise mobility and the recent, intense phenomenon of ‘bring your own device, or BYOD’ as having profound impact on enterprise IT strategy and resources,” Keerti Melkote, chief technology officer at Aruba Networks, said in a statement. “The critical requirement is simplicity in the face of rapidly changing device and application demand. This extends from the network that securely connects these devices to application management.€

Among the m-Suite platform€™s integrated expense management features are mobility lifecycle management, MDM integration, such as the validation of third-party applications against enterprise security policies, rate plan optimization and business process integration.

€œThe biggest IT challenge today in enterprise mobility is the fragmentation of the various software, tools, services and management systems required to deploy even the simplest of solutions,€ Paul Chapman, vice president of IT for VMware said in a prepared statement. €œClearly there is a significant market need for solutions like Symphony Teleca€™s that simplify the mobilization of the enterprise.€
