Backers of competing technologies for ultrawideband have been locked in a standards war in the IEEE 802.15.3a committee. Committee leader Bob Heile said the stalemate will probably last another 12 months. Companies on both sides, multiband OFDM and direct sequence CDMA, will ship non-standard UWB products in the coming year.
