LG’s new Lancet smartphone is now available through Verizon Wireless, featuring high-end features and a low $120 price tag.

The LG Lancet runs on Windows 8.1 and includes a 4.5-inch LCD display, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8GB of internal storage and a 2,100mAh lithium ion battery, as well as an 8MP multimode rear camera and a VGA front camera. The internal storage can be expanded to 128GB through the addition of a microSD card.

But what perhaps sets the Lancet apart is that it is the first phone available through Verizon to include Advanced Calling 1.0 capabilities, which means that users get HD-quality sound when using it to call other users who have Advanced Calling-compatible devices.

The XLTE network-ready LG Lancet is now available online immediately and will be available in Verizon stores starting on May 21. The smartphone can be purchased over 24 months on a no-interest Verizon Edge payment plan for $5 a month for 24 months. New customers who bring their existing mobile number to Verizon can get a $100 bill credit within two to three bill cycles for each new smartphone activated on Verizon Edge, for a limited time.

The phone can also be purchased for $19.99 with a two-year contract from Verizon, which is $50 off its regular contract price. Verizon More Everything contract customers also receive 25GB of cloud storage on the Verizon Cloud at no additional charge with the purchase of an LG Lancet handset.

The Lancet comes just as another Windows phone launched this week from competitor Cricket Wireless, which is now offering the Microsoft Lumia 640 smartphone to its no-contract wireless customers. The Lumia 640, which packs plenty of quality features and a low $129.99 price tag, is available immediately in Cricket stores and from the company’s Website.

Included in the Lumia 640 is a 5-inch Clearblack HD display for improved visibility in sunlight; a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 cover for extra durability; a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor; 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage, which is expandable to 128GB with a microSD card; a 2,500mAh battery; and an 8MP rear camera with flash and HD video recording capabilities.

The 4G LTE smartphone runs on the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and includes the Lumia Denim update, which offers useful features, such as Live Folders, a one-swipe Action Center and fast texting with Word Flow. The handset also comes with up to 30GB of free OneDrive storage and a wide-angle 1MP front camera.
