The Redmi Note 3 smartphone and Mi Pad 2 tablet are aimed at the Chinese market, but their features and low prices would make them attractive in other regions.
2The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Smartphone
The Redmi Note 3 has a new all-metal body and features a Helio X10 MediaTek processor, 2GB or 3GB of LPDDR3 dual-channel memory and a 1080P 5.5-inch Full HD display. The third-generation smartphone is available in China in silver, gold or dark gray.
3Dual SIM Slots for Smartphone Flexibility
The Redmi Note 3 handset also includes dual SIM slots, both of which support 4G networks. The phone is also compatible with 802.11ac WiFi networks and runs on Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 operating system.
413-Megapixel Main Camera
The Redmi Note 3 includes a 13MP autofocus camera with two-tone flash and a 5MP front-facing selfie camera that includes 36 preset picture-taking profiles. The Redmi Note 3 will retail for $140 in China with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage or for $172 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
5First-Ever Built-In Fingerprint Sensor in a Redmi Note Handset
The smartphone’s built-in fingerprint sensor can be unlocked in about 0.3 seconds to quickly make the device ready for photos, calls or other functions. The handset includes a 4,000mAh battery for long life on a charge and has a full metal body. The phone is 0.34 inches thick and weighs 5.78 ounces.
6The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 Tablet
The second-generation Mi Pad 2 tablet features a 7.9-inch high-resolution display (326 PPI), an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 64-bit, quad-core 2.24GHz processor, Intel HD graphics and 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
716GB or 64GB of Internal Storage
The Mi Pad 2 tablet can be purchased with 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. It also includes an 8MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, a 6,190mAh battery, one USB Type-C port and WiFi 802.11ac capabilities.
8Plenty of Tablet Packed Into 11.3 Ounces
Weighing 11.3 ounces with its full metal body, the Mi Pad 2 is 7.88 inches long, 5.22 inches wide and 0.27 inches thick. The devices, which are available in dark gray or champagne gold and run on Xiaomi’s MIUI 7 operating system, will retail in China for $156 with 16GB of storage or $203 with 64GB of storage when they go on sale Nov. 27.
