Adobe Systems announced Feb. 21 that it has formed a partnership with Photobucket to bring its Web-based video remix and editing technology to the Web, enabling Photobucket users to access Adobes video editing tools for free.
Adobes Web-based video remix and editing technology lets Photobucket users customize to drag and drop music, effects, transitions and titles to videos while also allowing users to reorder, trim and split clips.
“Our Web-based video remix and editing technology is just one of the many ways that we are evolving our business to satisfy the incredible demand for Web-based applications,” said Geoff Baum, group product manager at San Jose, Calif.-based Adobe.
Once the Web-based video remix and editing technology from Adobe is made available, users should be able to access the editing tools directly in the browser on Photobuckets Web site.
“With this partnership, were giving Photobucket users access to Adobes technologies to millions of online video fans who are just beginning to edit and remix their video,” Baum said.
Under the partnership, Photobucket will also advertise Adobes Premiere Elements, software that enables users to burn their footage onto a DVD, rearrange clips, share movies on DVD, the Web and mobile phones, as well as Adobes Photoshop software, which allows users to adjust color and lighting on their photos, drop their photos into customizable layouts and create Web photo galleries.
Adobe will also provide the editing tools and formats such as Flash Player, Flash Media Server and Flash video format that will enable users to create video remixes.
“We want to remove the intimidation factor and help people have fun with creating video remixes,” Baum said.
The new video editing capabilities in Photobucket will be available for free to Photobuckets user base by early March 2007.
